A professional without peer, Mary Hyams has been the foundation, first of the Family Support Division of the District Attorney’s Office, and later of the newly formed Department of Child Support Services (DCSS). She has provided exemplary service to the public in her role as Supervising Child Support Officer since 1978. First hired in 1971, Mary began as an Eligibility worker for the Health and Human Services Department – 31 years of service to the County!
A devoted mentor to fellow co-workers on her team, Mary has a kind, generous and respectful approach and an open door to anyone in the department with a question or concern. Mary has been a recipient of the District Attorney “Pride” award nominated by her colleagues for her knowledge of all aspects of the division. Her innovation and accessibility is a valuable resource to DCSS and her associates have the utmost respect for Mary’s exemplary work ethic and willingness to help for the betterment of the office and the public we serve. !
